American Association of Community Colleges' Future Leaders Institute (FLI) and Future Leaders Institute Advanced (FLIA)

Event Date:

American Association of Community Colleges' Future Leaders Institute (FLI) and Future Leaders Institute Advanced (FLIA) Newport Beach, CA,

June 27 - July 1, 2010.

Colleagues:
As you all struggle to provide high quality professional development with limited resources, I am pleased to call your attention to the fact that the American Association of Community Colleges' Future Leaders Institute (FLI) and Future Leaders Institute Advanced (FLIA) will be held in Newport Beach, CA,  June 27 - July 1, 2010.

These highly acclaimed national events will attract community college administrators from across the country who will meet, experience and learn from national leaders who also are from across the country, including California. Occurring simultaneously in the same location,  FLI is designed for mid level administrators (directors, deans, etc.) and FLIA is designed for senior level administrators (vice presidents, vice chancellors, etc.) who wish to enhance their leadership effectiveness.

There is no better way to facilitate your college's move toward excellence, even in adverse times, than to improve the leadership skills of those within your organization. Comments from past participants, and their college presidents, indicate they agree. You can learn more and access registration information by going to the AACC homepage at www.aacc.nche.edu and click on Future Leaders  in the lower left hand corner.

If you have any questions about the program or potential participants, please feel free to contact Dr. Margaret Rivera at AACC, Dr. Desna Wallin, or myself. Your own former Californian, AACC President, Dr. George Boggs, also can tell you more about this event. In addition to being one of our regular presenters, FLI and FLIA are the direct result of the leadership initiative which George began in his early tenure as the AACC President. In this final year of his presidency, it is appropriate that FLI and FLIA are being held in California so that more Californians can take advantage of this opportunity.

Please consider supporting the attendance of an aspiring leader or participating yourself (if you are a future president), at this year's Future Leaders Institutes.

Sincerely,

 Pam
